GWUI has written to the Low Pay Commission recommending that the statutory minimum wage becomes the living wage of €12.90 for all workers.

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and the Low Pay Commission have opened to the public a consultation on the statutory national minimum wage. Our research identified about 15% of the games sector are earning below a living wage. The roles most commonly earning below this are QA roles, testing, locations and some admin roles. The games sector is one of the biggest, fastest growing and most profitable sectors globally. No role in the this sector should earn less than a living wage.
